The Clinical Skills Centre hosts a number of surgical training courses during the year. Developed and taught by leading Consultants, each course provides in-depth theory and the opportunity to practise a variety of surgical techniques in a modern lab environment.

Aims
Junior trainees often don’t get the opportunity to perform a bowel or vascular anastomosis in the theatre. The aim of this course is to provide systematic teaching with a practical hands-on session.
Specific Objectives:
On completion of the course participants will be familiar with:

Hand Sewn Anastomosis (side to side, end to end)

Stapled Anastomosis

Combination of both techniques

Colon to rectum circular stapled anastomosis

Vascular anastomosis techniques

Maximum Participants
The first 12 registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Subsequent registrations will be placed on a waitlist in order of receipt.
