Brachial Plexus Dissection Course
The Clinical Skills Centre hosts a number of surgical training courses during the year. Developed and taught by leading Consultants, each course provides in-depth theory and the opportunity to practise a variety of surgical techniques in a modern lab environment.

Aims
This course provides an excellent opportunity to practice commonly performed nerve transfers in brachial plexus surgery.
Topics
The Course programme will include:
· Double Oberlin transfer
· Radial to axillary nerve transfer
· Accessory to suprascapular nerve transfer (posterior)
· Intercostal nerve harvest
· Supra-clavicular, infra-clavicular and trans-axillary brachial plexus approaches
· Clavicular osteotomy and fixation
Training Methods
Each topic will begin with a short preliminary lecture and a demonstration dissection prior to the dissection of each component by the registrants under the direction of the course tutors. There will be 10 work stations, each with one fresh frozen cadaveric specimen. Each participant will have the opportunity to operate on one arm and one side of the neck.
Maximum Participants
The first 20 registrations will be accepted. Subsequent applications will be placed on a waiting list in order of receipt.

Please note: the Hand and Forearm Flap Course will be held on Saturday 2nd - Sunday 3rd June. Registration for this course is $715 incl. GST. If you wish to attend both courses, a discounted registration fee of $1200 incl. GST will be applied.
